April Beauty Favourites: My Top Skincare Products For Sensitive Skin
Yay to warmer days and finally I can smell summer on the horizon. I’m frankly quite glad to see the back of winter, it has been way too long of a season. The brutal cold has been quite harsh on my skin so I’ve had to look for calming products to help get my sensitive skin back on track. Here I wanted to share some of my skin saviours for when it flares up. If you like me have extremely sensitive skin, then you’re going to love this post!
Firstly I wanted to tell you about the holy grail of face cleansers, La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser (it is not pictured here as I have finished it and just ordered a new one – the sign of how good this product is!) This wipe-off milk gently cleanses sensitive and intolerant skin, it is so light and doesn’t leave the skin tight at all. I absolutely love this and so highly recommend it.
Another facial cleanse that I really love is Elizabeth Arden’s Superstart probiotic cleanser. This whipped mousse cleanser transforms into mineral-rich clay to purify, prep and infuse skin with protective probiotics to support skin’s natural defences. With water it gently foams into a soft lather and feels so lovely on the skin
Deep repair balm from Teoxane is an absolute favourite of mine. It has really helped my skin feeling moisturised but also soothing. This contains resilient hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin and arnica to soothe and calm redness. This treatment helps to reduce inflammation or irritation caused by weather conditions. I really love this product so much and you don’t need to put too much on. I love putting it on in the evenings before bedtime.
Sarah Chapman’s Skinesis ultra recovery booster really gives that extra boost that your skin needs. With omega-rich booster combines all the power of essential fatty acids with anti-inflammatories and a probiotic to relieve and support your skin. It has really helped my stressed skin look healthier. Again I apply a few drops in the evening and morning to my skin when it is feeling super sensitive and stressed.
I do love a good mask once in a while and I’m happy I discovered this Papaya Enzyme Peel from Elemis. This contains natural fruit enzymes of exfoliating Papaya and calming Pineapple. I love how my skin is left soft, revitalised and radiant.
If like me you suffer from really bad dry lips and have tried all sorts of lip balms but with no luck, then I’ve found the perfect product for you! Cicaplast from La Roche-Posay is a barrier repairing balm that leaves them feeling soft and comfortable. I have Nadine Baggott to thank for this, beauty journalist and youtuber extraordinaire – a must follow if you aren’t already.
Lastly I like to keep my skin moisturised throughout the day so I absolutely love Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Hydrating Mist. A gorgoues mix of a superfruit blend, rich in antioxidants and vitamins, this ultra-fine mist leaves skin feeling reinvigorated and looking really healthy.
So there you have it – my current must haves for sensitive skin that needs a little TLC!
