Afternoon Tea & Pink Interiors At Sketch London
Afternoon tea surrounded by lush pink interiors is pretty much the London dream! A dream I was lucky enough to experience. One on the bucket list successfully ticked! If you’re looking for the ultimate afternoon tea experience with the dreamiest of interiors then welcome to Sketch.
If you haven’t heard of Sketch then you must have been living under a rock! This pink velvet room, known as The Gallery, created by architect & designer India Mahdavi, has garnered much worldwide attention. A room that has become one of the most Instagrammed restaurants in the world. Meanwhile David Shrigley’s drawings set a witty narrative in the room, recently he replaced the previous 239 black and white drawings with 91 colourful new works.
Afternoon tea at Sketch is definitely one of the kind and not only for their interiors. While the squishy pink chairs are fabulously comfortable you cannot help but notice the attention to detail in every form. From the attentive waiters, to the caviar man, (yes they have a caviar man) to the scrumptious food served in the dreamiest of settings. The afternoon started off with a Pommery Brut Rose champagne, followed by (for me the real star of the show) Egg & soldiers with a dash of caviar! Lets not forget the cake stand full of delicious sandwiches and mouthwatering pastries. The whole experience ended with delicious fluffy scones! No afternoon tea is complete without scones in my books!
So there you have it, pink velvet sofas, witty drawings on the wall, cool waiters and show-stopping food – Definitely one for the diary! A luxury experience worth trying.
Price: £58 for classic afternoon tea; £72 for champagne afternoon tea; £30 for children’s afternoon tea
All photography by Ed Reeve. I was kindly invited by Sketch for afternoon tea, views however are my own.
