Inject Some Bold Colours Into Your Winter Wardrobe
A case of trying to beat the winter blues by adding some colour into my wardrobe, somewhat of a challenge for the monochrome lover that I am. So stepping out of my comfort zone I decided that perhaps it was time to inject some colour into my life.
Don’t get me wrong; I actually love bright colours, just not so much on me as you’ll find me living in black and grey tones most of the time. Wearing bold colours is definitely a statement so perhaps it has always made me feel slightly uncomfortable. Understated chic has always been my go to style so perhaps the thought of adding something bright demolished that idea for me.
However at the beginning of the New Year, moods were slightly low, so I thought that perhaps adding some colourful pieces to my wardrobe might lift my spirits slightly. January is always a funny month and it’s probably the time where subtle changes are made. I follow a lot of people on social media that are all about colour and their accounts fill me with utter joy! Perhaps this was my calling.
Therefore I was super excited to team up with Debenhams and come up with a couple of outfits that incorporated bright bold colours; you know me I always love a challenge, so challenge accepted! I thought it was perfect timing to be bolder and braver and so my first choice of outfits was just that.
Suit Me Up!
From my trusty monochrome wardrobe to a fabulous bright red suit, you can tell I don’t do things by halves! For me red is definitely a colour that makes a statement, bold enough to do all the talking and to get noticeably noticed! So I thought to par down the suit with a plain black top and some white trainers. As the colour red does all the talking, I wanted to really tone it down, and by adding trainers it made me feel more comfortable and accessible. I’m not going to lie, at first I felt a bit OTT and needed getting used to wearing the colour red. However that feeling soon faded and I was feeling pretty confident and loving every moment.

Pink Lady
My second outfit of choice was how to incorporate a bright pink jacket. I do love the colour pink but never really wear it, so trying to avoid looking a complete marshmallow, I wanted to just add a subtle hint of colour. My base was of course monochrome which always acts like my white canvas on outfits. The black gingham trousers add some pattern to the outfit and these loafers are a great alternative to the Gucci ones. Overall I felt like a subtle pink lady waiting for my T Bird to arrive (Grease Lightning vibes).
