Friday Wishlist: 90’s Comeback!
I get quite nostalgic when I think back to the 90’s. My prime adolescence in full swing. A time when I so badly wanted to be cool but still hadn’t found my own identity. It takes time when in your teens and even in early twenties. So many insecurities and trying to find your own sense of style can all be so problematic, but that’s the beauty of growing up. It kinda falls into place while still learning along the way. However there are a few key pieces that I was so very fond of back then, that have made a comeback. Think bomber jackets, baker boy hats, high waisted frayed jeans, hoop earrings and you’ve pretty much covered my wardrobe staples back in the days. So the 90’s kid in me is jumping for joy and I can’t hide my enthusiasm for the return of my favourite pieces. Think casual street style meets savy, so here they are the pieces that I’m currently coveting after…
1/ I’ve been looking for a bomber jacket for quite sometime and I found this beauty from River Island which made me a happy girl indeed. It’s currently sitting in my basket on another tab as I’m writing this post… All in the name of research I say 😉 You’ll also find a great selection of Bomber jackets from Topshop. 2/ This baker boy hat from ASOS is a great bargain and it’s pretty much like the Isabel Marant one that is sold out everywhere. 3/ I’m pretty much obsessed with this jewellery brand Missoma. They have such beautiful pieces and some at such reasonable prices. It’s a case of classic pieces with a modern twist. I absolutely love these hoops by Lucy Williams for Missoma. So dainty and pretty. 4/ I do love a good quality silk cami and this one from Raey is no exception. It’s perfect for any occasion, casual or dressing up in the evenings. It’s one of those staple pieces that will always remain a classic. 5/ I’ve been lusting after this bag for a very long time. While I am not a fan of the big Chloe Faye bag I do love it in a miniature version especially when it comes in black. It’s so perfect for everyday- well when you don’t have much to carry around. Ok so maybe not practical but it’s just gorgeous. It still remains there on top of my wishlist. 6/ These mid-rise slim boyfriend jeans from Acne are super cool. Not too high waisted as some jeans, which I find way unflattering. However there are some great high street options you can find from Topshop. 7/ The high ankle boot is still going strong this season. I think these cream coloured ones from Isabel Marant are quite fab. I don’t usually go for this colour being the monochrome girl that I am but these are quite acceptable with Spring and all. However they still remain rather pricey so there are some good options from Public Desire.
