For The Love Of Blush – Pink Interiors In The Home

17th March 2016

I have a love hate relationship with the colour pink. Now I know you’re probably thinking, how could that be when my whole website is purely based on pops of pink. Well you see it was two years ago and I’ve changed since then – I am as a matter of fact working on a redesign to rectify this! I guess it’s the split personality in me. One moment I’m all about monochrome the next I’m all girly and feeling the pink love. Then along comes Pantone colour of the year, Rose Quartz and I’m all confused again. The Jekyll and Hyde in me has made me realise that I could never possibly paint a whole room pink, as for starters I would probably get bored of it and secondly my OH would object immensely (it’s the Italian macho ego in him). Having said that, I do appreciate interiors that incorporate this colour into their homes so well. I know I know, I’m a constant contradiction.

However life is about compromise and while I couldn’t possibly live just surrounded by pink interiors, I do like the idea of having pops of the colour blush in my home. From notebooks to ceramics to bed linen to pretty chairs, light fittings, prints and so on… It’s about striking a balance and still maintaining that girly side of my personality… After all I am a romantic at heart.

I do love how the grey walls mute down the pink sofa… You see, grey and pink, (my two personalities) work like a dream together… This Mayor sofa is by & Tradition available from Houseology.

Subtle accents of pink at the dining table are such a nice way to incorporate this feminine colour. All items available from Houseology.

A single pink wall works so well in this room. The contrast of the black frames and the gold pendant break it up so beautifully. Photo by Tia Borgsmidt.

Here are a few ‘pink’ home accessories that quite tickle my fancy…

Ahh I do love a bit of blushy pink! So pretty. I do like to ‘butch it up’ with black and gold to sort of downplay it’s softness so that star tray is right up my street! xxx

Lovely curate. I’m a pink and blush person. I think I’ve always been but in little doses too. x

Oh, I love that pink and grey mix. Did you ever try pure red and pink? It is my fantasy.

I’ve previously been a bit reticent where pink is concerned, but all these blush ideas are bringing me round!

Yes even for those that aren’t lovers of pink can incorporate it with small accessories. There are so many shades of pink that blush is always a good starting point 😉 x
