Weekend In Picture Perfect Strasbourg
Strasbourg is one of those cities that I never thought of visiting, it has never really been on my radar. However I was pleasantly surprised when faced with auntie duties. Visiting my gorgeous nephews I took the opportunity to roam around the city centre. While the weather was a total drab I didn’t let it dampen my spirits, after all I’m a true Brit! Picturesque pretty, with influences between France and Germany, Strasbourg is a mix of medieval past and a progressive future. The capital of Alsace will very much surprise you with its dynamic diversity full of culture. So if you’re a lover of good food, beautiful monuments, museums and entertainment then I think you’re going to somewhat fall in love with this vibrant city.
Not to be missed (which is pretty much impossible) is the grand and mesmerising Gothic cathedral. You’ll also find yourself roaming around the old town’s alleys full of the cutest taverns by the canals in Petite France; my absolute favourite part of town. Did I also mention that the shopping is so so good! Strasbourg is also the perfect city to cycle around with so many dedicated cycle lanes. It’s definitely a case of Bruges meets Amsterdam!
Restaurants that I can recommend are La Corde à Linge, pretty café/brasserie offering french cuisine (The hamburger is very good!), and Le Madras, for yummy indian – yes I couldn’t resist a good curry 😉
Anyway instead of rambling on, I’ll leave you with a few snapshots from my very brief but somewhat enriched weekend.

5th February 2016 at 1:00 pmIt’s not somewhere I’ve been either, but your photos definitely make it look appealing. A great choice of images, and I love how many of them – with their pink tones – work well alongside your blog background.
