LDF10: A Night With Conran
I had a fabulous time last night at the Conran shop for the Emeco event. The place was absolutely buzzing and it was just pure fun.
I loved the Emeco chairs, comfortable, quirky and very green friendly. Each chair is made out of at least 111 recycled plastic bottles which originate from Coca-Cola’s recycling plant in South Carolina, USA. Named as the ‘111 Navy Chair’, it contains 60-65% post consumer rPET and 30-35% pigment and glass fibre for strength. They come in 6 fantastic different colours and are just very cool.
I also had fun having my photo taken on some sort of carousel, images will be shown on their website, Sunday shoots. Highlight of the evening for me? Definitely meeting Sir Terence Conran and having my photo taken with him. What a sweet man he is. You can imagine how very star struck I was indeed, after all the man is a genius the most influential designer, restaurateur and retailer in the world.
I am absolutely loving London Design festival and don’t want it to end!!!

24th September 2010 at 11:17 amGreat post-
I did a post on the Emeco Navy Chair a wee while back- the new recycled version is cool but I also like the original aluminium one as well. Couldn't they make that out of recycled Coke cans too?

Great piece Owen, I really like the Aluminium as well and perhaps one out of coke cans could be the next product…..you said it first here 😉

Wow I love them! Such a brilliant colour range by Laura Guido-Clark!
(though I think the original 1006 is still my favourite.)
